Bikes

Elizabeth inherited Andrew's old bike and Anna got Elizabeth's old bike. As for Andrew, you can see how he feels about the arrangement in the picture. We need to buy him a bigger bike. But we want something we can pass down to his 3 little sisters. Think he will mind a princess bike? We are hoping to find something red.

Eden

Eden is 6 months old. Wow. She has a tooth almost through the gum and she loves to eat. She eats oatmeal cereal for breakfast and dinner and has tried pears, bananas, peas and sweet potatoes. She loves the oatmeal. Everything else is still up in the air. She knows she hates peas. She still loves to nurse and has given up on the bottle. Hopefully she will change her mind again on that one.

Angel Falls

We hiked to Angel Falls yesterday. We like that we have hiking close by. It was perfect for the kids. The hike was straight up for about 10 minutes. Not bad. Elizabeth, Andrew, and Jeff climbed up all the rocks. Eden, Anna, and I played in the water and hoped the others wouldn't get eaten by a mountain lion. We had a great time.

Camera

I killed my camera, which is only 6 months old. I knelt on it while tying shoes and did some damage to my shin. But more expensive damage to the camera. So sad. But some funny things...
Andrew reads too much. And he has a really large vocabulary for a 7 year old. He reugulary uses words like accomodate and coincidence. Yesterday we had the missionaries over for dinner and he asked, "mom, will the missionaries be arriving by car or by foot?" And he asks so seriously. He likes to say "by and by." The kid is smart. We are doing Saxon 5/4 for math and he is breezing through it. I taught him how to use a compass today and how to measure the radius and diameter. He loves math. We are using two different methods for history, one of which invovles reading a chapter, writing a narration, and answering questions in a test format. He remembers more than I do. And he is getting very good at his narrations. He can fill a whole page. He has perfect spelling. We are working on the punctuation. He loves using commas. I love teaching Andrew. It is stressful and busy and I worry about not giving him what a school environment can but I love having him home with me. And he likes it too. He wants to do it again next year, but I am sending him to school. I'm sure I will cry.

Andrew Playing Bride's Marriage

Andrew wrote this song to remember his uncle Jonathan's and Alyssa's wedding!
